Tech-Wise
The St. Isidore Foundation encourages the wise use of technology in hopes of avoiding and discouraging the seemingly ever-increasing abuse of technology. We are certainly not “tech-free” (especially to the extent that we have a wider notion of what constitutes technology than many of our contemporaries do), but we want participants in our programs to leave us feeling and being truly free to use or not use any given technology as they reasonably deem appropriate. Therefore, we do not blindly accept the use of any and all technology in our programs, and we even require participants in our programs to forego the use of most personal electronic devices during their time in our programs.
To learn more about our approach to the use of technology in our programs–particularly in our ideal flagship program, St. Isidore’s College–and for some practical examples of how we consciously limit the use of technology (especially devices powered by electricity and non-renewable resources), please read our short article on “Technology at St. Isidore’s.”
