Community
The word “college” literally refers to a place where people read together, and a “colleague” is a person with whom one reads. Consequently, the community of any college is predicated upon reading together. At St. Isidore’s, the members of our community–our faculty (along with any family members living with them), students, and guests certainly read together, but we also live on the same campus together, grow and raise most of our food together, prepare and enjoy many meals together, pray together, and otherwise encourage one another to (echoing St. John Paul II) “become who we are.”
